Legal Information & Policies


At YouFIX, your peace of mind is our priority. Our Payment Protection Policy ensures that all payments are secure, transparent, and fair—for both Employers and Contractors.

Secure Escrow System

All payments made on YouFIX are held in a secure escrow account. This protects both parties:

  • Employers can be confident that contractors won't be paid until work is completed to satisfaction.
  • Contractors can trust that funds are available and reserved before beginning any work.

How It Works

  1. Project Funding - Once an Employer accepts a bid, they are required to fund the full project amount. This payment is securely held in YouFIX escrow.
  2. Work Completion - After the Contractor finishes the project, they mark it as complete. The Employer is notified and asked to confirm the work.
  3. Release of Funds -
    • If the Employer confirms completion, funds are released immediately to the Contractor.
    • If no response is received within 3 days, funds are automatically released.
    • If the Employer disputes the work within those 3 days, funds are temporarily held while YouFIX investigates (see Section 4).

Cancellations & Refunds

If both client and professional agree to cancel:

  • Before Work Begins: Employers may cancel a project and receive a full refund as long as the Contractor has not started work.
  • Mid-Project Cancellations: If a project is canceled after work begins, a partial refund may be issued based on the work completed. YouFIX will review supporting evidence to make a fair determination.
  • Contractor Cancellations: If a Contractor cancels after accepting a project, the Employer will receive a full refund.

Disputes

If there’s a disagreement about work quality, scope, or completion, the Employer may file a dispute within the 3-day review window. When this happens:

  • The funds in escrow are put on temporary hold.
  • YouFIX will review documentation and communication from both parties.

Contractor Payouts

Once funds are released:

  • Contractors are paid via Stripe Connect to their linked bank account.
  • Contractors must complete onboarding before payouts are sent.
  • Funds typically arrive within 1–3 business days of release.

Fees

YouFIX charges a transparent service fee, visible at the time of bid acceptance. This fee covers:

  • Secure payment processing
  • Dispute support services
  • Ongoing platform maintenance

Fraud & Misuse

If fraudulent activity or policy abuse is suspected:

  • The account(s) involved may be temporarily suspended.
  • Funds may be placed on hold while an investigation is conducted.
  • YouFIX reserves the right to report activity to law enforcement if necessary.
